COPPA Compliance & Parental Consent Agreement

**For parents of children under age 18**

EarlyB3rd provides online entrepreneurship lessons for young innovators.

Federal law (COPPA) requires us to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from children under 13.

This form explains what we collect, why, and how your rights are protected.


1. Information We Collect
We only collect what is necessary to operate the program, including:

- Child’s first name, age, or birth date
- Parent’s name, email, phone, and billing information
- Student projects (text, images) when part of assignments
- Lesson progress and activity data
- Optional photos or recordings of projects (only if allowed by parent)
- We do not collect Social Security numbers or highly sensitive data.


2. How We Use It
Information is used to:

- Create and manage the child’s learning account
- Deliver lessons, workshops, and feedback
- Provide progress updates to parents
- Process payments
- Comply with legal and safety requirements

We do not sell children’s information or use it for advertising.


3. Third-Party Services
We use secure providers (learning platform, video tools, payment processors).

They receive only the minimum information required and must comply with COPPA standards.


4. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain information only as long as needed to run the program, usually no longer than 2 years after the child’s last activity, unless you request otherwise.

Parents may request deletion at any time. Deletion is typically completed within 30 days unless required for legal or billing reasons.


5. Parent Rights
Parents may:

- Review their child’s information
- Request corrections or deletion
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Decline optional media use or public showcases

6. Verification
COPPA requires that consent comes from the actual parent/guardian.

Verification may be completed through:

- A small, refundable credit/debit card authorization
- A signed form returned to EarlyB3rd
- A short verification call

Verification records are stored securely for at least 3 years.

Parental Consent Statement:

I am the parent or legal guardian of the child enrolling into this course. I have reviewed EarlyB3rd’s privacy practices and give permission for EarlyB3rd to collect, use, and store my child’s information as described in this document. I understand my rights to review, update, or request deletion of my child’s information at any time.
